  • 500g ground beef (12% fat)
  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • 2 garlic cloves (for sauce)
  • 3 garlic cloves (for garlic paste)
  • 80ml apple vinegar
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 240ml beef stock
  • 100g butter
  • 200g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Fresh basil
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add finely diced onion and cook until golden brown. Stir in diced garlic and ground beef, browning the meat.
  2. Mix in tomato puree, then add apple vinegar, tomato passata, beef stock, fresh basil, oregano, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for about 25 minutes.
  3. Prepare bread rolls by cutting off the tops and hollowing them out gently. Mix melted butter with garlic paste, parsley, and parmesan; brush inside and outside of rolls.
  4. Cook spaghetti until al dente; drain and mix into the sauce until coated.
  5. Fill each hollowed roll with spaghetti mixture and top with shredded mozzarella.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until the bread is crispy and cheese melts.
