Ingredients
Scale
1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 large onion, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), ginger, garlic, and sesame oil for the marinade. Add beef strips and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté sliced onions until soft and caramelized.
Increase heat to high and add remaining vegetable oil. Stir-fry marinated beef strips for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch for the sauce. Pour over the beef and simmer until thickened.
Add the sautéed onions back into the skillet, combine well, and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
